Join us for a special day of talks at ACE Open to celebrate the opening weekend of Tarnanthi Festival 2021.

Uncle Mickey will lead a smoking ceremony a welcome.

The day will be centred around a curator-led tour and expanded artist talks delivered by participating WATER RITES artists, Tamara Baillie, Mandy Quadrio and Lucien Alperstein, and conclude with a sound performance at 1:45pm by Constantine Stefanou.

Barngarla artists, Candace Swan-Taylor and Cailtin Swan-Taylor and linguist Ghil`ad Zuckermann will attend and share stories and experiences of their revived language, following the Artist Exchange that took place in June.

This event is part of WATER RITES exhibition public programs.

WATER RITES is presented as part of Tarnanthi: Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art.

This project is supported by SA Water and the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
