Each participant will be provided with a stainless-steel frame and pre-prepared latex with eyelets fitted. Each participant is to bring their own image or design that they would like to recreate with thread onto their stretched latex canvas. The drawings can be as representational or abstract as desired. During the workshop, we will be using various hand stitch and machine sewing techniques to recreate the drawing or design you have selected. By then end of the session, each participant can take home their new latex wall hanging, that can be mounted on the wall with the stainless-steel frame.
This workshop provides anyone interested in working with atypical materials a chance to explore latex as a canvas and create a unique piece of contemporary art.
