Create your own small wall-hanging sculpture while learning a range of cold working metal and mould making techniques with Adelaide based sculpture and jewellery artist Olivia Kathigitis.
Focusing on working with raw plaster mould making, Olivia will demonstrate how to consider form and the spatial dynamics of your materials, working to create a multi-faceted artwork, with the opportunity to incorporate your own objects into the sculpture.
This workshop provides anyone interested in working with sculpture in either their artistic or craft-based practice a practical and accessible entry point to a range of techniques and processes.
ACE Open’s workshop program provides a unique opportunity to learn new skills and engage with leading contemporary artists in a creative, social and participatory environment. Designed to suit a range of skill levels and interests, these artist-led programs offer all audiences – from curious gallery-goers through to practicing artists – an opportunity to learn a range of creative techniques through hands-on, practical classes. All materials and light refreshments will be provided.
