Visit the upstairs studios at ACE Open for an exclusive opportunity to meet our current Studio Program artists in their working spaces and preview artworks in progress.
The five ACE Open Studio Program artists will open their studios, giving the public a special opportunity to step inside the studio spaces upstairs of the ACE Open gallery.
Meet Sundari Carmody, Anna Gore, Oakey, Loren Orsillo and Jonathan Kim, explore the studios, and preview art works in progress.
With music and refreshments available on the day, this is an exclusive opportunity for the public to drop by ACE Open and glimpse into the studios of leading South Australian contemporary artists.
The event will also celebrate the public unveiling of ACE Open’s new studio entrance staircase mural by South Australian artist Sam Songailo, titled Headphones on, phone down, in bed, dark room, eyes closed (2021).
Songailo was commissioned to create a mural that transforms the stairwell into a more welcoming studio entrance point. It was commissioned by ACE Open in 2020 and installed across May 2021.
About the ACE Open Studios: Each year, ACE Open hosts five fully-supported South Australian artist studios through its Studio Program, the only of its kind in South Australia.
With 24/7 access for twelve months; professional development opportunities including studio visits with Australian and international curators, introductions to visiting artists, participation in public programs, mentorship by ACE Open artistic staff and profiling and promotion opportunities.
Made possible by the generous contributions of private donors and partnerships with the City of Adelaide and the Helpmann Academy as well as Studio Program Foundation Donors James Darling AM, Lesley Forwood and Ministry of Clouds, and the ACE Studio Program 2020 Donors Circle.
The Open Studio will be presented as part of the 2021 SALA Festival
