Craft your own wearable clay masterpiece with artist Ayesha Aggarwal in this afternoon workshop. Inspired by the beauty of work made by hand, Ayesha will lead you through the process of rolling, shaping, designing and painting clay into a pair of one-of-a-kind earrings or brooches.

Bring your own imagery to work from, or take inspiration from Ayesha’s latest collection. Pieces will be fired offsite and returned to ACE Open for pick up and addition to your wardrobe!

ACE Open’s workshop program provides a unique opportunity to learn new skills and engage with leading contemporary artists in a creative, social and participatory environment. Designed to suit a range of skill levels and interests, these artist-led programs offer all audiences – from curious gallery-goers through to practicing artists – an opportunity to learn a range of creative techniques through hands-on, practical classes.

AYESHA AGGARWAL is an Indian born Australian artist living in Adelaide, who creates decorative, functional ceramic pieces with bold, graphic designs. Growing up in India, where so much is still produced by hand, Aggarwal learnt to value the handmade. Born into a large family of extremely creative women, conversations about colour, pattern and design were a part of her everyday life. She combines these sensibilities with an appreciation of Australian flora,to create functional ceramics that are truly one-of-a-kind. Aggarwal’s work is stocked in Urban Cow Studio, JamFactory, Art Images Gallery and the QAGOMA Store.
