Auslan users are invited to attend an Auslan interpreted tour of ACE Open’s Adelaide Festival exhibition, The Violet Ballet by acclaimed artist Sally Smart.

Widely known for her large-scale, richly-coloured assemblage installations, Smart has carved out a world-renowned career that spans more than three decades.

The Violet Ballet extends on Smart’s distinctive practice, examining the extraordinary legacy of the Ballet Russes – in particular its macabre dance piece Chout (Tale of the Buffoon) – alongside traditional the Indonesian Wayang character Punokawan.

ACE Open is a flagship contemporary art gallery located in the Lion Arts Centre at the West End of North Terrace. It is easily reached by public transport, including the tram.
