South Australia’s top practicing artists lead a day of discussion and debate about the value of visual arts now and in the future.

11.15am – 12pm
Session 1: Residencies and the Overseas Experience
with Anna Horne, Michael Kutschbach and Wendy Fairclough

12pm – 1pm
Lunch feat. appearance by the MONGO suits
MONGO suits were created by South Australian artists in collaborative workshops with South African artist Francois Knoetze. Knoetze’s practice retraces the life cycles of discarded objects and explores junctures between material and social histories. Through the Mongo suits, the synthetic is welded to the human – bringing focus to the objectification of persons, through the personification of objects.

1pm – 1.45pm
Session 2: Social Engagement and Working with Communities
with Daniel Connell, Laura Wills and Paul Gazzola

1.45pm – 2.15pm
Coffee break

2.15pm – 3pm
Session 3: Represent: Women Making Themselves
with Amanda Radomi, Grace Marlow and Zoe Freney
