South Australia’s top practicing artists lead a day of discussion and debate about the value of visual arts now and in the future. 11.15am – 12pm Session 1: Residencies and the Overseas Experience with Anna Horne, Michael Kutschbach and Wendy Fairclough 12pm – 1pm Lunch feat. appearance by the MONGO suits MONGO suits were created by South Australian artists in collaborative workshops with South African artist Francois Knoetze. Knoetze’s practice retraces the life cycles of discarded objects and explores junctures between material and social histories. Through the Mongo suits, the synthetic is welded to the human – bringing focus to the objectification of persons, through the personification of objects. 1pm – 1.45pm Session 2: Social Engagement and Working with Communities with Daniel Connell, Laura Wills and Paul Gazzola 1.45pm – 2.15pm Coffee break 2.15pm – 3pm Session 3: Represent: Women Making Themselves with Amanda Radomi, Grace Marlow and Zoe Freney 3pm – 4pm Drinks and discussion
